This model is one of the least expensive turntables that you could find in the market right now, and it’s also among the best for its price. The JTA-230 is the big brother of the JTA-220 and JTA-222, all very close in price range and ratings.
Jensen JTA-230 Review – Features
This is the first turntable I ever used. I used to go crate digging for old soul vynil then go back home and sample them as much as I could. I’m not saying that is the best turntable you can find (actually it’s nowhere near the best), but for me it was a cheap tool that allowed me to discover a great new world.
If you’re new to vinyl or you want to breakout your old vinyl collection, then the Jensen JTA-230 it’s what you’re looking for. This record player is a belt driven unit, meaning the platter is connected to the motor via a rubber belt. The belt acts as a shock absorber and dampens the vibrations resonating from the motor. This record player also comes with tone and pitch controls, which is an extra that most entry level record players lack. The Jensen JTA-230 has built in speakers on its side. They are quite good, but I recommend using other speakers using the RCA output. As far as the outputs, the JTA-230 provides left and right RCA line-out jacks, a 3.5 mm stereo headphone jack and a USB port for converting your vinyl records to digital format with your computer, using the included software or any other recording software, such as Audacity.
