Gakken SX-150 MARK II Review – Introduction
The Gakken SX-150 MARK II is a little and very compact analog synth. There are two versions of it, the Gakken SX-150 given with a Japanese DIY magazine and the newest version the Gakken SX-150 MARK II. The biggest difference between the two is how they are packaged, in fact the first version need to be assembled by the buyer (no soldering required). However, the newest version the Gakken SX-150 MARK II comes preassembled and has some more functions than the first version.

The Gakken SX-150 MARK II is very cheap and produce some nice analog sounds. You can connect the device to your audio interface and record every bit of sound to reuse it in your production or you can simply play around with the machine and listen live from your headphones or with the built-in speaker (that’s actually decent) . In fact this machine is not MIDI compatible (if you want some MIDI on it check this tutorial). The notes in the Gakken SX-150 MARK II are played by an old style stylus controller.
